Thank you, Marco Island!

Friends and Supporters,

After taking some time to recharge after the completion of this hard fought campaign, I wanted to take a brief moment to say “thank you.” Thank you to those who donated, volunteered, held signs, worked the polls, made phone calls, came out to our events, stuck a bumper sticker on their car, sent in letters to the editor, put up a yard sign, or provided friendship and support (I couldn’t have done this without all of you). Thank you also to our entire island and all of our citizens regardless of which candidates you voted for this election. It has been such a tremendous honor to serve as one of your City Councilors for four years since 2016. Now, after having been re-elected to a second term with far more votes in 2020 than in 2016 (not the easiest of tasks on Marco Island!), I am looking forward to all that we can accomplish over the next four years. I am truly humbled by the amount of support I have continued to receive throughout all this time.

Marco Island citizens came out to vote and let their voices be heard. The results of our City Council election should be properly defined as clear, decisive, and record breaking. Negativity was once again thoroughly rejected by the electorate. The key areas of focus during this cycle were about ensuring a positive direction for our island going forward, working to safeguard Marco Island as the best place to live today while also being ready for the future, and the leadership ability and commitment to successfully make it happen. I am excited and energized to put the campaign behind us and focus on working together for the benefit of our entire community. If you need to reach me for any city business, you can email me directly at or call me on my city cell at (239) 315-2089. At the end of the campaign in 2016, I wrote “The election may be over but now the hard work begins. Stay engaged and active in this process. The new Council needs your support and your vigilance. This is a four-year shared commitment.” That message is just as true today as it was four years ago. I know I can continue to count on you.  As always, I am committed to our community and our shared future.  - Jared Grifoni p.s. If you were one of the amazing people who put up a yard sign for my campaign, please remember to take it down as soon as possible (but no later than 11/10/20).
